What do the different VeriScan Authentication Results Mean?
VeriScan authentication has three results: Passed, Failed and Flagged
If you scan an ID and have questions about the authentication results, please see your manager.
The driver's license scan result on the screen says PASSED.
- Proceed with the rental process.
- If you think there is something wrong, involve a manager.
The driver's license scan result on the screen says FAILED.
If you are not confident in the result or don't understand why it failed, rescan the driver's license.
- If it passes, continue processing the rental.
- Check to see if the driver's license is dirty, damaged, or has a sticker.
- If the driver's license has a sticker on it, involve a manager.
- If it is too dirty or damaged (cracked/scratched), involve a manager.
- If it fails again, involve a manager.
The driver's license scan result on the screen says FLAGGED.
- See here for a full list of common pop-up messages.
- If you just scanned the person and are receiving the FLAGGED status because the Multi-Scan alert pops up, click the Authentication tab at the top and look to see the result at the top of the page.
- If it says PASSED, proceed with the rental as normal.
- If it says FAILED, involve a manager.
- If the pop-up message says the person is part of a group on an alert list (example, Do Not Rent), involve a manager.
- These groups will be created and maintained by management.
- These groups will be created and maintained by management.
The driver's license scan result on the screen says something else.
- Try rescanning the driver's license. If rescanning doesn't get a different result, involve a manager.
- The driver's license may need to be manually checked with blacklight and ID checking guide.
- Add a Tag in VeriScan and assign to "Submit for Review". This flags it for admin review later.
